Biography

Mr. Venkateswara Rao currently employed by Carbon Continuumis and a self-made entrepreneur he has got his MSc in Nanoscience and Functional Nanomaterials from Bristol Centre for Functional Nanomaterials, University of Bristol. He also obtained integrated master’s degree in Bioengineering and Medical Nanotechnology from SASTRA University, India in 2012. He worked on innovative cost effective methods for multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) synthesis during his undergraduate and later went onto co-found a company “Carbon Continuum” that tackles industrial carbon emissions and waste from MWCNT production. Venki has also worked on various other projects such the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles and their anti-bacterial activity, Arterial pulse detection using PVDF sensor and prediction of diseases using Siddha based Ayurvedic method during his integrated degree. During his MSc at Bristol he worked on the “Enhanced exciton transport by optical modes supported by molecular nanostructures” BCFN theta project in the Tom Oliver group. He worked on “Process Optimization in Microwave & DC – Plasma assisted CVD reactors for high quality diamond thin film growth” for his MSc. thesis. He is interested in pursuing his studies further through PhD in the area of nanomaterials for energy conversion. He likes to play cricket and badminton in his spare time.
